🔗 URL Shortener — Free Short Link Generator
Paste your long URL and get a short, shareable link in one click — completely free with no account required. Your short link is created and stored on our server so anyone can follow it from any device, anywhere. Looking for a free Bitly alternative? Toolio’s version is completely free and needs no sign-up.
How your link is stored. The address you shorten is saved on our server so the short link can redirect to it — links don't expire and can't be deleted here, so don't shorten private links.
About
This URL shortener sends your long link to our server, which generates a unique short code and stores the mapping permanently. Anyone who visits the short URL is redirected to your original destination — instantly if it points to a Toolio page, or after a one-tap confirmation screen that shows the destination site first for links elsewhere (this extra step helps stop phishing). No file uploads, no browser storage limitations — the link lives on the server and works from any browser or app. The service is completely free and requires no account or sign-up. Short links never expire by default, and each link is safe to share on social media, emails, SMS, and messaging apps.
How to use
- Paste your long URL into the input field.

- Copy the short URL with the copy button and share it anywhere.
- Anyone who clicks your short link is redirected to the original URL — instantly for Toolio links, or after tapping "Continue" on a quick confirmation screen for links to other sites.
FAQ
- Is this URL shortener free?
- Yes, completely free. No account, no subscription, no hidden fees — just paste your URL and shorten it.
- Do short links expire?
- No. Short links are stored permanently on our server and do not expire. Your link will keep working as long as the service is running.
- Can I use a custom alias for my short link?
- Currently, short codes are generated automatically to ensure uniqueness. Custom alias support may be added in a future update.
- Is it safe to use short links from this tool?
- Yes. All links are stored on our server and redirect only to the URL you submitted. We do not modify or inject content into your destination. Avoid shortening URLs from untrusted sources.
- Does the URL shortener work on mobile?
- Yes. The tool is fully responsive and works on any smartphone or tablet browser. Paste your URL, tap Shorten, and copy the short link — all within seconds.
- Can I see how many people clicked my link?
- No. The server keeps a running visit count for each link, but there is no page or dashboard where you can see it — that's the trade-off for needing no account. If you need click statistics, add UTM parameters to the destination URL before shortening it and read them in your own analytics instead.
- Why does this tool need a server when the others do not?
- Because a short link has to work for somebody else, on a different device. Every other tool here can finish its job inside your browser, but a redirect only exists if something is listening at that address when your reader clicks it - so the mapping has to live on a server rather than on your machine.
- Is the URL I shorten stored?
- Yes. A short link only works because the original address is saved on our server, together with the date it was made and a visit count. It has no expiry date and this page can't delete it. Nothing else you type is kept, apart from an anonymous daily counter used to stop spam — so avoid shortening links that must stay private.
