🌐 What Is My IP Address? — IPv4, IPv6, Location & ISP

Both of your public IP addresses are shown above — IPv4 and IPv6 on separate lines, each with its own copy button, and the one your browser actually used to reach this page marked "In use now". Your approximate country, city, ISP, and timezone are read from the Cloudflare edge as the page loads. No data is stored or logged.

An IP address is the unique number that identifies your device on the internet; this tool shows both the IPv4 and IPv6 addresses that websites and services see.

Most connections have IPv4; IPv6 depends on your ISP. Whichever one your browser used to reach this page is marked "In use now".

About

Every device that connects to the internet is assigned a public IP address by its ISP. This address identifies your connection on the global network and is visible to every website and service you visit — it is not private. A single page load only ever reveals one of your addresses, because a browser reaches a site over either IPv4 or IPv6, not both at once. This tool reads that address and its geo-metadata (country, region, city, ISP, timezone) directly from Cloudflare edge headers, then makes one request to a Cloudflare endpoint that answers on the other protocol only, so both addresses can be shown and copied. Cloudflare already handles every request to this site, so no additional party sees your address. The city shown is approximate — IP geolocation is accurate to the country or region level in most cases, but city-level precision varies by ISP and geography. Your IP is never written to a database or log file; the lookup is read-only and ephemeral.

How to use

  1. Open this page — your public IP address is detected and displayed automatically.
  2. Read both versions — IPv4 and IPv6 are listed separately, and the one your connection is currently using is marked "In use now".
  3. Review your approximate location — country, region, and city are shown based on IP geolocation data.
  4. Note your ISP and timezone — useful for troubleshooting VPN leaks, network issues, or verifying your connection.
  5. Copy your IP with one click using the copy button next to the address.

FAQ

What is an IP address?
An IP (Internet Protocol) address is a unique number assigned to your internet connection by your ISP. It lets routers and servers know where to send data — similar to a postal address for your device on the network.
Is this tool free?
Yes, completely free — no account, no subscription, no hidden fees. Just open the page and your IP is shown instantly.
Do you store or log my IP address?
No. Your IP is read from the Cloudflare edge request header and displayed to you — it is never written to a database, log file, or analytics system. Showing your second address takes one request to a Cloudflare endpoint that simply echoes it back; Cloudflare already handles every request to this site, so no new party is involved. The lookup is read-only and ephemeral.
What is the difference between IPv4 and IPv6?
IPv4 uses 32-bit addresses (e.g. 203.0.113.5) and supports about 4.3 billion unique addresses. IPv6 uses 128-bit addresses (e.g. 2001:db8::1) and supports a virtually unlimited number. IPv6 was introduced because IPv4 addresses are nearly exhausted globally.
Why does my IP address have letters in it?
Because you are connected over IPv6. An IPv6 address is written in hexadecimal, so it uses the digits 0-9 plus the letters a-f in eight colon-separated groups, for example 2402:800:63a9:a2df:e1e2:8a95:69df:a7ea. An IPv4 address uses only decimal digits and dots, like 203.0.113.5. Which one you get depends on your ISP rather than on where you are: IPv6 is widely deployed in countries such as Vietnam and India and rare on many other networks, so the same person can see a different format after switching connections.
Why does one of the two addresses show as unavailable?
Your network supports only that one protocol. Almost every connection still has an IPv4 address, while IPv6 is enabled by some ISPs and not others. If your provider has not enabled IPv6, the IPv6 line stays empty and its copy button is disabled — that is expected, and nothing is broken.
Why is the city shown only approximate?
IP geolocation maps IP ranges to locations using ISP registration data, not GPS. ISPs may register address blocks in their headquarters city rather than where the connection physically is, and mobile or VPN users may see a different city entirely. Country and region accuracy is generally high; city accuracy is typically within 50–100 km.
Is my data uploaded?
Only the address or URL you type is sent to our server to fetch the public result. No private files are uploaded and nothing you enter is stored.
